Agricultural seating varies considerably between machines. The right replacement seat depends on a range of factors, including the available space, mounting arrangement, suspension requirements, operator weight range and the way the machine is used.

Depending on the application, available seating may include mechanical or air suspension, fore/aft adjustment, height and weight adjustment, lumbar support, adjustable armrests, seat belts and operator presence switches. Sears agricultural ranges, for example, include seating intended for applications from smaller tractors through to larger tractors, harvesters and sprayers, with different mechanical and air-suspension configurations available across the range.

Choosing the Right Tractor or Agricultural Seat

A replacement seat should not be selected on appearance alone. Two seats can look similar while having different mounting dimensions, suspension travel, seat heights, electrical requirements and adjustment ranges.

For air-suspension seats, the machine’s electrical supply may also need to be confirmed. Available cab space and clearance around controls, steering columns and consoles can further influence which seat is suitable.
